Filtrexx Filter Cell ™

Passive phase filtration consists of installing several Filter Soxx (8", 12", or 18" in diameter) along a sediment flow situation. The natural gravitational flow forces the water through several Filtrexx Filter Soxx. Instead of allowing it overtop, the Filter Soxx reduces solids in the outflow at each phase of filtration.

Filter media used within the phased filtration Filter Soxx design can be adjusted to smaller, dense material for higher filtration, or larger, loose material for higher flow rates. Most often media used is composted organic matter or various grind sizes of mulch. Filter Soxx sizes (8", 12", or 18" in diameter) are offered dependent on the depth of the flow requiring filtration.

Additives may be applied (if required) either within or along with the Filtrexx Filter Soxx remove some suspended particles during runoff. Even without additives however, normal filtration through the organic multi-soxx design will greatly improve water clarity. Organics such as compost and mulch are great natural filtering materials.
